Please force migration of xz-utils into testing. The last few uploads
have only introduced minor changes, and I had neglected to notice
that liblzma2 had not reached testing yet.

Would it have been so hard to cc me?

This was entirely my mistake. I will be sure to do so in the future.

Thank you, and sorry for the trouble,
Jonathan

Actually, please don’t yet. For what it’s worth:

rdeps:

 shogun:
	is waiting on octave3.2, xz-utils
octave3.2 is only 3 days old.
	octave3.2 is waiting on hdf5
The hdf transition hasn’t happened in sid yet.

The rest are fine:

 rpm:
	lsb-rpm (4.7.2-1+b2) is waiting on xz-utils
	librpmio0 (4.7.2-1+b2) is waiting on xz-utils
libarchive (2.8.0-2) is only 9 days old, waiting on xz-utils
 mupen64plus (1.5+dfsg1-7+b2) is waiting on xz-utils
 kde4libs (4:4.3.4-3) is waiting on xz-utils
gtkwave (3.3.3-1) is waiting on xz-utils
fsarchiver (0.6.8-1) is waiting on xz-utils
python-lzma has no old version in testing.

I assume some rebuilds are needed to get hdf 1.8.4 into testing.

Yep, we know about that. The hdf5 transition is tied to the xz-utils
transition through shogun, so we need to migrate the union set of
packages involved in both transitions in to testing together (or break
things in testing, but avoiding that would be preferable).

Adam

So in general you should be aware that the release team needs
a package to be built and uploaded on all architectures before
it can move into testing (either normally or forced).

You can see this here:

https://buildd.debian.org/pkg.cgi?pkg=xz-utils

When you make a new upload, the previous version is no longer
a candidate and the wait for all architectures to be in sync
must restart.

Therefore, each time you (or your sponsors) make an upload
before a successful testing migration occurs, you are choosing
to delay this process.

Apologies if you have already understood this or if I have
misunderstood the situation.
