DirectFB 1.2.9 introduce a soname change.

libdirectfb-dev reverse build-depends:
------------------------------

gst-plugins-bad0.10
libsdl1.2
splashy
cairo
freesci
directvnc
links2
lives
mplayer
qingy
xine-lib
gtk+2.0

------------------------------

Could you schedule this transition and the related binNMUs ?

As a side note, I would like to push Phonon 4.3.80/Qt 4.6.2
(directfb->gtk->qt)to Sid, right after directfb transition.
Another bug report will follow to track Phonon and Qt schedule.

Cheers,

Fathi

We will do so as soon as unstable is in a better shape again. We still
need to clean up the rests of the jpeg mess and finish the current set
of transitions off. Afterwards, we will need to do something about our
mips and mipsel buildds, which both have a serious backlog of several
hundred packages (mips has almost 600 packages in needs-build).

So, yeah, we know about this, and will schedule it, but would like you
to wait a bit. This, of course, also holds for the Qt/Phonon
transitions.

Thanks for the patience,
Marc

Please go ahead with the upload to unstable; we'll then schedule the
binNMUs.

Upload to unstable done.

It's now made it out of NEW, so I've scheduled the binNMUs (with
appropriate dep-waits).

A quick status update...

Most of the binNMUs are now built. Unfortunately many of them ended up
built against the old libraries on mipsel; they have now been
rescheduled after the chroot was cleaned.

gst-plugins-bad0.10 ends up tying the directfb and celt transitions
together. celt isn't ready to migrate as opal FTBFS on hppa but if it
comes to it we may temporarily break opal/hppa in testing.

The other big blocker is the two RC bugs against libsdl1.2. #572420
looks like it could be fairly easily solved by simply disabling altivec
support; this should fix the crashes on machine where it isn't
available.

I believe I've found the upstream change responsible for #565788;
there's a patch in the BTS which will hopefully be being tested by
someone involved in Wesnoth soon. The change in question was intended
to fix another mouse-related bug but appears to have broken at least
wesnoth in the process.

Regards,

Adam

and another :)

The directfb packages had an undeclared file conflict on armel. This is
now fixed and the updated version built everywhere (and mostly
uploaded).

This is all done.

This is still the case, and we're still looking at temporary breakage
for opal (and by extension ekiga and the gnome metapackages) on hppa.

This isn't a blocker. The bug is still RC but also applies to the
package in testing and therefore isn't relevant for migration.

There's been a libsdl1.2 upload incorporating this change. It's built
successfully everywhere and just waiting for a few uploads.

Adam

One more :-)

After a few further issues (and by breaking opal and ekiga on hppa),
directfb transitioned to testing this morning; I'm therefore closing
this tracking bug.

Adam
