Using the Alsa output plugin (the other plugins don't work for me, but thats a separate issue), if you stop a track, adjust the volume to 0, then press play again, you can still hear the track at full volume.

Adjusting the volume during playback causes an update as expected. I believe an appropriate fix would be to query the UI's current volume setting, then enforce that prior to playback

I cannot reproduce this behavior with version 2.3.  Will you please try
and see if the problem still exists for you?
