Subject: linux-image-2.6.30-2-686: Deferences NULL pointer in xfs
Date: Tue, 3 Nov 2009 23:28:43 +0100 (CET)
Package: linux-image-2.6.30-2-686
Version: 2.6.30-8
Severity: important

Hi

When I try to build eclipse 3.5 from source the compile is usually interrupted by the kernel deferencing
a NULL pointer in (as far as I can tell) my file system driver. I do not see this during "normal" usage[1].
The attached log contains two separate deferences from two separate build attempts.

This may not be of relevance, however:
 * The base system is testing while I build in cowbuilder against sid.
   - I have not tried to run the build directly in my base system (outside cowbuilder).

Thank you in advance,
~Niels

[1] I do not really use it for anything besides building packages.

Hi Ben

I still have an issue with xfs in 2.6.31-1-686; but this time it
was not exactly a dereference of a NULL pointer but a failed
"paging request" at "0000341b".

I think this is still the same bug.

Since this occurs in 2.6.31, the upstream developers will be willing to
look at it. Please report this at <http://bugzilla.kernel.org> under
product 'File System', component 'XFS' and let us know the bug number so
we can track it. You should attach the kernel log that was included in
your mail.

Ben.

Therefore closing. Sorry we didn't get to this in time.
