Dear Maintainer,
While reviewing some packages, your package came up as a possible
candidate for removal from Debian, because:
* Two RC bugs and several important.
* RFA'd for over 3 years.
* No reverse depends/build-depends.
* Problems on newer kernels.
* Fairly low popcon scores.
If you disagree and want to continue to maintain this package, please
just close this bug and do an upload also fixing the other issues.
If you agree that it should be removed, send the following commands to
control@bugs.debian.org (replace nnnnnn with this bug's number):
severity nnnnnn normal
reassign nnnnnn ftp.debian.org
retitle nnnnnn RM: <packagename> -- RoM; <reasons>
thanks

Since this bug was reported, no further comment was made by the
package maintainer.
One more FTBFS bug has just been reported (easy to fix, admittedly,
but still) and I got no answers to my l10n NMU proposals.
As a consequence, I think that all conditions are met for the package
to be removed from the archive.
Thanks, Barry, for sending the original notice...

We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:
em8300 | 0.16.4-4 | source, alpha, amd64, armel, hppa, i386, ia64, kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc
em8300-bin | 0.16.4-4 | alpha, amd64, armel, hppa, i386, ia64, kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc

em8300-source | 0.16.4-4 | all
------------------- Reason -------------------
RoM; buggy, unmaintained
----------------------------------------------
Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any
mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the
earliest.
Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.
Bugs which have been reported against this package are not automatically
removed from the Bug Tracking System. Please check all open bugs and
close them or re-assign them to another package if the removed package
was superseded by another one.
Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 553690@bugs.debian.org.
