The description provides no clue what this package does unless you already know
what EIB, KNX and EIBnet/IP is. Please expand the acronyms and describe what
use this daemon has to a user. What services does it provide over those
sockets? What interfaces does it support other than EIBnet/IP?

work in progress packages for eibd-server eibd-clients and linknx are
available from (amd64 and armel):

deb http://scorpius.homelinux.org/~marc/debian lenny main contrib non-free
deb-src http://scorpius.homelinux.org/~marc/debian lenny main contrib non-free

Most important changes wrt to upstream include;

  - run as knx user instead of root
  - /etc/default/ files and init.d files
  - linknx compiled with mysql support

The packages are fully functional.

missing:
  - manpages
  - lintian check

Hi,

This is an automatic email to change the status of eibd-server back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 6 months.

If you are still interested in adopting eibd-server, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:

 retitle 549901 ITP: eibd-server -- KNX/EIB server
 owner 549901 !
 thanks

However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing <549901@bugs.debian.org>.

Thank you for your interest in Debian,
