Version: 5.4.2-1+b2
Severity: wishlist

Hi,
About a year ago I submitted this bug,
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=502061.
I finally found some time to debianized a simple mapserver project and make
a debian package out of it.
I've included it as an attachment. The data comes from here:
http://maps.dnr.state.mn.us/mapserver_demos/workshop-5.0.zip

I followed the instruction from the book The Debian System Concepts and
Techniques by Martin F. Krafft from 2005. So I hope the instructions are not
to old. I've created it from scratch.
This the second package I do in that way. So there are probably some
problems with it. I'll be happy to hear suggestions for improvement, and
when the time comes, I will be happy to see it goes into Debian.

This package is pretty self explaining, it creates a folder under /var/www/
in the name mapserver.
Directing the web browser to localhost/mapserver
will show basic capabilities of mapserver.

Please let me know what you think.

Oz

Please read http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/ about how to get
packages into Debian. Specifically, it's not clear from your bug
report whether you intend to package it yourself (ITP) or whether
you're looking for someone else to maintain this (RFP).

Anyway, I also recommend http://lists.debian.org/debian-mentors/
