Severity: normal
We, Debian Games, request an adopter for the mines.app package. If nobody
adopt the package in the 3 comming months, we'll ask ftp-master to remove
the package from the archive.
The package is/was maintained in the Debian Games Team, we would prefere the
new maintainer to do so.
The package description is:
Mines is the classic Minesweeper game for GNUstep. You must uncover all
the empty cases without blowing on a mine.
.
When you uncover a case, a number appears: it indicates how many
mines surround this case. If there is no number the neighbour cases
are automatically uncovered. In your process of uncovering secure
cases, it is very useful to put a flag on the cases which contain a
mine.

Hello,
Seen as mines provides so much entertainment to me when I'm bored, I
would be glad to adopt it to save it from removal.
Note: Would it be possible for someone from Debian-Games to sponsor my
uploads? (I'm not a DM or DD... yet (I am hoping to make DM soon))
Thanks!
P.S. Hope its not too late, it has been three weeks :S

Hi Luke,
The package is still in the archive, so there is no problem. You can
close this bug and join the Debian Games Team to maintain it.
Best regards,

I intend to adopt mines.app.
I will be joining Debian-Games. Expect an upload within the next few
days closing this bug and setting me as the maintainer.
Thanks,

Many thanks for your interest. Note that the former maintainer
expressed intent to adopt it again [1], but I suspect that was a
reluctant action, based on the fact that there were no prospective
maintainers and we (Debian GNUstep team) would be sad to see this
package go away. It would be nice if you get in touch with him, just
in case (I think he's a member of debian-games).
If you need any assistance/advice from the GNUstep team, please do
not hesitate to ask, anytime.
Good luck!

retitle 544934 O: mines.app -- Minesweeper for GNUstep
noowner 544934
thanks
Hi,
This is an automatic email to change the status of mines.app back from ITA
(Intent to Adopt) to O (Orphaned), because this bug hasn't seen any activity
during the last 6 months.
If you are still interested in adopting mines.app, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:
retitle 544934 ITA: mines.app -- Minesweeper for GNUstep
owner 544934 !
thanks
However, it is not recommended to keep ITA for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
adopting the package. It is also a good idea to document your progress on this
ITA from time to time, by mailing <544934@bugs.debian.org>.
Thank you for your interest in Debian,

Message #56 received at 544934-close@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:
mines.app | 0.1.0-5 | source, armhf, s390x
mines.app | 0.1.0-5+b3 | kfreebsd-amd64, kfreebsd-i386
mines.app | 0.1.0-5+b4 | amd64, armel, hurd-i386, i386, ia64, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc
------------------- Reason -------------------
RoQA; orphaned, low popcon
----------------------------------------------
Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any
mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the
earliest.
Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is
really needed, please contact them if this should be the case.
We try to close Bugs which have been reported against this package
automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they where closed
correctly or should have been re-assign to another package.
Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 544934@bugs.debian.org.
