How about sending only the first and last 100 KB or so of the file,
then? That should cover the ID3 tag.

For future, you can do it with the "dd" command; I won't repeat the
manual page here, though.

After installing ttf-sazanami-mincho and setting Audacious to detect
Japanese character sets, the attached screenshot is what I see. This is
with running current development version, however, not 2.1.
Would you kindly attach your config file
($HOME/.config/audacious/config)? I will try to reproduce using that
config; if I still cannot reproduce, I will downgrade to 2.1 and try
that.

Sincere apologies. I saw the anime reference and assumed the file had a
Japanese character set, not Chinese (I know neither). I've now installed
ttf-arphic-uming and set Audacious's character detection to Chinese. Is
this new screenshot correct?
I am running the version of Audacious currently being developed; it will
be 2.2 once it is released.

I've downgraded to 2.1 and I now see the "Invalid UTF-8" in the title.
So, this seems to be a problem in 2.1 that has already been fixed in the
current development version. I am attaching two screenshots, one of 2.1
and one of the development version, both run with your config, for
comparison.
(Note that, in the development version, the Chinese characters in the
title show up as blanks in the main window because you are using the
Audacious's bitmap font there. To get the characters to show up the main
window, you need to uncheck the "Use bitmap fonts" option in Preferences
-> Skinned Interface.)
