Subject: audacious: Ogg stream track titles not changing
Date: Mon, 10 Aug 2009 15:19:07 +0530
Package: audacious
Version: 2.1-1
Severity: minor

When I load the stream, the currently playing track is shown. This does
not get updated when the track changes. I checked with mplayer and the
track information is indeed sent in the stream when the title changes.

retitle 540764 audacious: Ogg/MP3 stream track titles not changing
thanks

Hi!

Some additional info: I can reproduce this bug not only with Ogg Vorbis
streams, but also with MP3 streams.

I noticed that the title inside the playlist window fails to be
updated, while the audacious task list item (on panels with task lists,
such as fbpanel) is updated only with MP3 streams.

Some event on the playlist window (for instance: rolling it up or
unrolling it) triggers a title update.

I also noticed that the OSD plugin fails to be triggered on song change.

The following table shows working and non working title updates:

 stream Ogg MP3
----------------------------------------
titles in playlist win no no
titles in task list no OK
titles in OSD plugin no no

I hope that this additional info may help in making sure this bug gets
fixed for all the use-cases...

Should be fixed in 2.3-1. Please confirm.

Thanks.

I am really busy: it's unlikely that I find the time to install and
test packages from experimental...

I will try, but don't count on it happening soon.

Sorry. :-(

OK, sorry for the delay: now that version 2.3-2 has migrated into
testing, I began using it.

I can confirm that this bug seems to be fixed: hence I think this bug
report may be safely closed with a message to 540764-done@b.d.o
including a "Version: audacious/2.3-2" pseudo-header.
However, since I am neither the bug report submitter, nor a maintainer
of the package, I'll wait for someone else to do so...

Bye.
