Hi,

/var/log/Consolekit/history can become very long, and so it should be
rotated.

Attached is a configuration file for doing this, placing it at
debian/consolekit.logrotate in the package source should be enough.

Is size really an issue? I've been running CK for quite a time and the history
file has *only* grown to 5 Mb.
Do you have any numbers/experiences where the history file has grown large?

It seems to me, that rotating the history file on a weekly basis somehow defeats
the purpose of e.g. ck-history --frequent.

If at all, I'd at least rotate the file on a monthly basis.

What do you say?

Until Steve's recent additions to the PAM stack installing pam-ck-connector
would add an entry every time cron ran. This would make the file grow very
large indeed.

ck-history --frequent reads all rotated files, so it includes information for
(rotation period * number of files kept).

That would also work for me. Having some bound is better than no bound,
and with Steve's fixes it doesn't make a big difference what that bound
is.

Hi!

I can second this request of putting a logrotate entry into the package. 
On our testsystem it has grown to 113MB since 2009-07-27 until today.

I have created /etc/logrotate.d/console-kit with:

/var/log/ConsoleKit/history {
        weekly
        missingok
        rotate 12
        compress
        delaycompress
        notifempty
        create 644 root root
        sharedscripts
}
