Version: 1.17.8-11

I've got a synaptics touchpad, type=synps2. In /etc/gpm-syn.conf, I have:

corner_taps_enabled n
tossing_enabled n

Yet these options are *not* being actually disabled. Something must
be wrong.

Had the same problem here (woody, gpm 1.19.3).
Solution is simple, you just have to write:

| [corner_taps_enabled] n
| [tossing_enabled] n

This way it works just fine.

So this is rather a documentation problem (and there is no error message
on syntax error):

,----[ README.synaptics ]
| Each line in this file has the following syntax:
| [param-name] <value>
`----

This should be made clearer here.

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

This bug requests better documentation of the format of gpm-syn.conf
The documentation is not wrong or inaccurate, just not 100% clear on the
requirement for square brackets
Whilst the README.synaptic.gz has not been updated much, an example file is
now included in /usr/share/doc/gpm/example, clearly demonstrating the format
of the file.

Therefore I think this bug can be closed
