Package: ttf-linux-libertine
Version: 4.4.1-1
Severity: Normal
Using OpenOffice.org 3.0 (1:3.0.1-9) and Linux Libertine font, when setting
it on Bold it turns Bold-italic with no reason and without posibilities of
un-set the italic.
In Abiword and other applications it works well.

Maybe OpenOfice.org doesn't support Freetype very well, but in previous
version it didn't happen.

Message #10 received at 523186@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
I can confirm this behavior, when I use "Linux Libertine O" in
OpenOffice.org 3.0 and set it as bold, result is bold italics.
Also after upgrade to ttf-linux-libertine 4.4.1-1 I've noticed "Linux
Libertine" (note missing "O" in name!, this fix is provided
by /etc/fonts/conf.d/90-ttf-linux-libertine.conf) shows as bold instead
of regular weight. This seems to be system-wide problem:
$ fc-match "Linux Libertine"
LinLibertine_Bd.ttf: "Linux Libertine" "Bold"

[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]

I can confirm this behaviour, too. If I select "Linux Libertine" instead
of "Linux Libertine O" in OpenOffice.org 3.0.1, it is bold by default.
$ fc-match "Linux Libertine"
LinLibertine_Bd.ttf: "Linux Libertine" "Bold"
It seems that there is a generic problem with fontnaming and fontconfig
which confuses other applications, too. My main problem is when using
XeLaTeX with "Linux Libertine O" as main font, fontspec complains that
it can't find the bold style, resulting in everything being typeset in
regular. Bold and italics at the same time works however:
Package fontspec Info: Could not resolve font Linux Libertine O/B (it
might not exist) on input line 5.
It's even worse if i use "Linux Libertine" as main font, resulting in
everything typeset in bold and the following complaints:
Package fontspec Info: Could not resolve font Linux Libertine/B (it
might not exist) on input line 4.
Package fontspec Info: Could not resolve font Linux Libertine/I (it
might not exist) on input line 4.
Package fontspec Info: Could not resolve font Linux Libertine/BI (it
might not exist) on input line 4.
Attached is a minimal example.
Regards,
Matthias Noe

thanks
The attached patch fixes this bug by renaming the bold version's SFD
file; verified by running the "minimal.tex" through xelatex.
