Well, Squeeze is finally out. This means the major distraction for the DDs
is gone, they no longer have the excuse of doing something like preparing
the release instead of uploading Emerald.

It's a shame it's not present in the official repositories.

Could you please push whatever new polish you have done and send another
RFS? I'm not a DD myself but I can at least raise noise for you :p

Hi Adam,

New compiz 0.9.2 packages are been worked on recently and there are
compatibility issues with emerald. After new compiz release is fully
in experimental, I am going to work on emerald and hopefully manage to
make it usable with compiz 0.9.2.

Best,
Janos

[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
Hello,

This ITP is one year and a half old. Any progress here?

I am interesting in having this software on Debian... So if you are not
longer interested on it I would appreciate if you can re-title this to
an RFP so I can take over it.

Thanks!

It looks like that the upstream development is staled for some time. I
do not sure if it is fit to be in the archive and I did not make any
progress.

Michael, thanks for retitling the bug report.

Carlos, I can upload somewhere packaged 0.8.4 version if you are
interested about it. It is working with Compiz currently in testing.

Hi,

Compiz has been removed[1] from Debian about two months ago due to
being unmaintained and RC-buggy. (It seems controversial if Compiz is
also dead upstream.) Nevertheless someone requests to readd[2] Compiz
to Debian again.

[1] http://bugs.debian.org/719870
[2] http://bugs.debian.org/722451

Emerald seems to depend on Compiz. So unless Compiz reenters Debian,
Emerald and Emerald Themes don't make sense to be packaged for Debian.
Hence adding according "blocked by" references.
