Hi,

As I am also greatly interested in using nftables, I would like to know
if you have already compiled the required libraries (and specific
kernel), or if this is more a "I will work on this" email.

In any case, I am interested, maybe setting up a team would be good.

I had to patch several things to build nftables libs and executable to
make it build, and runtime isn't working yet (due to incompatibilities
in the parser and the bison version).

Cheers,
Pierre

retitle 522176 RFP: nftables -- packet administration tool for kernel nftables
noowner 522176
thanks

Hi,

This is an automatic email to change the status of nftables back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 6 months.

If you are still interested in adopting nftables, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:

retitle 522176 ITP: nftables -- packet administration tool for kernel nftables
 owner 522176 !
 thanks

However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing <522176@bugs.debian.org>.

Thank you for your interest in Debian,

Hi,

you can find an early-devel package here:

https://github.com/aborrero/pkg-nftables

Please note that nftables is currently being developed.
Also, there is no official kernel support for nftables. The kernel
patched with nftables is at:
http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/pablo/nftables.git/
I think Netfilter will release it in early 2014.

Of course.

I'm waiting for Netfilter to do an official release of the userspace stuff.

The debian packaging of both nft and libnftables are almost in shape.

The package is almost ready, just waiting the release.

ok i found your libnftables, but nftables doesn't build with it, I had
to use upstream with your packaging, and then i noticed your libnftables
doesn't do multi-arch

see https://wiki.debian.org/Multiarch/HOWTO

and please remember to multi-arch your -dev packages too

THanks!

Yes, libnftables is still under heavy development, and from the time I
did the first packaging approach several things have change.
