Package: kaudiocreator
Severity: important

Hi,

I know that KDE4 is only in experimental.

As there are no filename conflicts between kdemultimedia-kio-plugins between KDE3 and KDE4,
the part that is used by programs that are not ported to KDE4 and have no proper replacement either,
like kaudiocreator, should be kept available and co-installable with KDE4.

Maybe move/copy that bug to kdemultimedia-kio-plugins if you feel it's belongs there.

Hi,

You filed the bug http://bugs.debian.org/520621
in the Debian BTS against the package kaudiocreator.

Debian has switched to KDE 4 in unstable and kaudiocreator
does not exist in KDE 4. Therefore, I am closing this bug as fixed
in *unstable*. The bug will remain open for stable since it is
shipping KDE 3.5.

Ana

Since kaudiocreator is no longer available, is there any equivalent package?

Alternatively, given that it's always been a seemingly independent package,
is it possible to have kaudiocreator packaged separately in the same way as
other applications with no KDE4 version, eg. Kaffeine or Konversation?

It needs kdemultimedia-kio-plugins and libkcddb1 (besides kdelibs) from kde3,
so not really independent.
Chance of packaging it independently are almost inexistent since nobody seems
interested in mantaining it.

You can use konqueror or dolphin with url "audiocd:/"
It can be configured with systemsettings.

Well, the audiocd:/ ioslave is a lot less useful as it doesn't [appear
to] allow corrections to the CDDB data, nor any configuration of the file
paths. That said, if there is nobody to maintain it then it really can't
be helped. I personally have the dependencies on hold, so we'll see how
long that manages to work before something breaks.

Apologies for taking this bug thread so far off-topic; I'll stop now.
