Package: gnome-terminal
Version: 2.24.3-2
Severity: normal
If I right click on a link and select "open link" from the menu I get an
error dialog. Screenshot attached.
I've tried setting my web browser to both epiphany and iceweasel in
Preferred Applications.
Never had this problem until upgrading to this version.

It works for me. I enter for example http://www.google.com and do a
right click and it opens up in the Web browser. Tested for two users. I
attached my installed packages at the end.
Thanks,
Paul

It was not working for me quite reproducibly until I downgraded.

Josselin fixed it in svn, you need to install gvfs (as gnome-terminal now uses
gtk_show_uri() ).
Cheers,

Quoting policy §7.2:
Recommends
This declares a strong, but not absolute, dependency.
The Recommends field should list packages that would be
found together with this one in all but unusual
installations.
Since gnome-terminal is perfectly functional without gvfs, only missing
the feature to open external links, I think it is fit for a Recommends.

If you’re talking about default installations, gvfs is of course
required.
Package: gnome-core
Version: 1:2.24.2~2
Depends: … gvfs (>= 1.0.3), …
(And gnome-desktop-environment depends on gvfs-backends.)
