* Package name    : dnssec-conf
 Version         : 1.15
 Upstream Author : Paul Wouters <paul@xelerance.com>
* URL             : http://www.xelerance.com/software/dnssec-conf/
* License         : GPLv2+
 Programming Lang: Python
 Description : DNSSEC and DLV configuration tool

DNSSEC configuration and priming tool. Keys are required until the root
is signed, as well as for local unpublished DNSSEC keys to be preloaded
into the recursive nameserver. These DNSSEC configuration files can be
directly included in the bind or unbound nameserver configuration files.
dnssec-conf includes a commandline configuration client for Bind and
Unbound, known DNSSEC keys, URL's to official publication pages of keys,
and harvested keys, as well a script to harvest DNSKEY's from DNS.

P.S.: My reportbug is broken and I can't find my previous ITPs in wnpp package.
I hope I'm not sending this for the third time.

Minor nit: We need this even if the root is signed, to implement root
key changes.

Is it the expectation that this becomes the de-facto standard for
configuring DNSSEC on Debian systems? It's probably a good interim
solution, but I guess we should run our own TAR, and a TAR update
mechanism which is not based on APT (to avoid the chicken-and-egg
issue).

True. I have just copied Pauls version of description.

I would like to. And you're welcome to comaintain the package.

I agree. But this is a good start. I will examine dnssec-conf package
more thoroughly this
week and probably make a preliminary packaging.

How is it going?

I notice this bug is still open.

Has it been decided whether to package dnssec-conf or, if not, how dnssec
look-up should be configured under debian?

retitle 516991 RFP: dnssec-conf -- DNSSEC and DLV configuration tool
noowner 516991
thanks

Hi,

This is an automatic email to change the status of dnssec-conf back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 6 months.

If you are still interested in adopting dnssec-conf, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:

 retitle 516991 ITP: dnssec-conf -- DNSSEC and DLV configuration tool
 owner 516991 !
 thanks

However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing <516991@bugs.debian.org>.

Thank you for your interest in Debian,
