Hi!

In the very near future, kde (and kopete) will be kde4 based. The
current kopete-silc-plugin is kde3 based and it will stop to work and
stop to build when this is happened.

I don't know if there is any upstream plans for a kde4 based kopete silc
plugin, but if not, please consider removal of this package.

Hi!

Support for KDE 3 is going away in Debian. From Kopete SILC homepage,
I can see that the version in the Git repository have support for KDE 4.
Do you plan to release a version supporting KDE 4 in the near future, or
should we just package the Git master branch directly?

well, I've actually started porting the plugin towards KDE4 rather
early, even before the 4.0 release was out. But since then haven't had
much time to care and actually somewhat forgot about the outstanding
release.

I'll have a look at the code and (possibly) adjust it for 4.2 release
until/over the upcoming weekend.

I don't mind, likely it's easier for other distributors if we'd create
tarballs.

cheers,
  stesie

what is the status of this? kde 4 is reaching unstable RSN.

Thanks!

I'm finally working on it now *g*. It's already mostly working.
There's just some plugin-icon related issue left, which I haven't
been able to sort out so far. That is the SILC-icon appears in
several locations, but there are some where it doesn't show up yet...

My current testing version is available from [1], in case somebody
wants to have a look. Otherwise I'll have another go tonight.

cheers

Hello,

okay, seems like kopete_silc 0.5 works now. I've tested it with
Debian/experimental and recent Ubuntu installations...

The official tarball is available at [1].

My preliminary .dsc file is at [2], this time IPv4 accessible. Would be
cool if some DD could care for the next steps (Jeremy?). Feel free to
ask in case of questions.

cheers
