Description : Analyser for the aerodynamic and flight-dynamic of rigid aircraft.

AVL is a program for the aerodynamic and flight-dynamic analysis of rigid
aircraft of arbitrary configuration. It employs an extended vortex lattice
model for the lifting surfaces, together with a slender-body model for
fuselages and nacelles. General nonlinear flight states can be specified. The
flight dynamic analysis combines a full linearization of the aerodynamic model
about any flight state, together with specified mass properties.

PS: The package will be maintain by the aeromelling maintainers team <https://launchpad.net/~aeromodelling-maintainers>.

This looks ideal for the science/Engineering section of debian-science.

If you could post it to the debian-science list when you have packaged
it, that would be useful. Indeed if you want help packaging it,
perhaps debian-science is an appropriate place to ask too.

I've taken the liberty of adding this to the science-engineering task -
see http://cdd.alioth.debian.org/science/tasks/engineering.html

Package description below for those reading this for the first time on
debian-science.

Hi all,

The debian part of the package is already done. You can have a look at
it on this bazaar branch
https://code.launchpad.net/~aeromodelling-maintainers/aeromodelling-project/debian-branch

We will test the package soon and add it to alioth and propose it to
upload in few days...

Note that, we (aeromodelling-maintainers) also want to propose CRRCSim
(which is the reason for AVL) and Java Foil.

So please wait a little bit...

retitle 513608 RFP: avl -- Analyser for the aerodynamic and flight-dynamic of rigid aircraft.
noowner 513608
thanks

Hi,

This is an automatic email to change the status of avl back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 12 months.

If you are still interested in adopting avl, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:

retitle 513608 ITP: avl -- Analyser for the aerodynamic and flight-dynamic of rigid aircraft.
 owner 513608 !
 thanks

However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing <513608@bugs.debian.org>.

Thank you for your interest in Debian,
