Message #5 received at submit@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
Package: openssh-client
Version: 1:5.1p1-4
Severity: minor
This renders the VisualHostKey feature unuseable as a default when using
scripts relaying on ssh.
A more consistend way would be to let "VisualHostKey yes" show the
grapical fingerprint when the normal fingerprint woild be shown (e.g.
when the remote key is unknown) and rename the option for the current
behaviour to "VisualHostKey always".

Hi,
I also disabled that now because of visual host key appearing in backup
script logs and the like.
Alternatively, it might make sense to show VisualHostKeys only when
connected to a terminal, and not otherwise.
Greetings,
Joachim
