Package: sylpheed
Version: 2.3.0~beta5-1
Severity: minor

Sylpheed is checking mail from all accounts instead of from the
current one when checking periodically for new mail (as set in the
common options.) I couldn't find any option to select whether the
check was to be on all accounts or on
 the current one.

I believe this is an upstream bug.

You couldn't find it because it doesn't exist AFAIK.
Anyway you probably should try latest version which is in experimental (2.6.0).

That's not called a bug, but a missing feature.
Feature requests are severity wishlist in Debian BTS.

 Hi,

Can this be forwarded to upstream, please? It's been four years since the report and I don't see it tagged as such.

I understand the bug is classified as wishlist, but it causes problems anyway for certain users. User may have accounts configured that are not desirable for a regular check: i.e. alternative accounts that should only be consulted explicitly because they are meant to be read and processed somewhere-else and deleting the messages daily on server is unacceptable, or accounts that receive messages that aren't meant to be read regularly, either because they would clutter the inbox or are old accounts that should only be fetched on request. This is indeed my case. Please, take care so this can be solved.

Indeed, my fault. As a bad or good excuse (you decide! :) I can tell you
the upstream bug tracker didn't even exist when this was reported and I
stopped forwarding bugs privately or to the mailing list long ago as it
was pretty ineffective.

Anyway, done now. Thanks for the heads up!
