Hi,

Please see below, regarding the copyright status of some of the data in the source
archive.

-- Message to support@cluedome.com --
Hi there,

I'm looking at packaging up Cluedome within Debian, after receiving this request:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=509532

However, despite the GPL, the source I have looked at contains copyright-infringing
material (the data files which make it actually play 'Cluedo'). We wouldn't be able
to include these in any Debian package.

Is it possible for you to provide a source archive which does NOT contain these data
files? We would indicate on the package where to go to get hold of data files (is
there a dedicated section on your site?)

While we can patch the files out, as we also include the original archive in the
source packages, this would still technically be distributing copyright-infringing
material.

Kind regards,

Tris.

Please note that Cluedome is now known as MurderSpot.
I would appreciate it if this new name could be used for any Debian
package produced.
Also note that the source package no longer includes data files.

retitle 509532 RFP: cluedome -- the murder mystery board game Cluedo (Clue)
noowner 509532
thanks

Hi,

This is an automatic email to change the status of cluedome back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 6 months.

If you are still interested in adopting cluedome, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:

retitle 509532 ITP: cluedome -- the murder mystery board game Cluedo (Clue)
 owner 509532 !
 thanks

However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing <509532@bugs.debian.org>.

Thank you for your interest in Debian,

[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
the name has changed and the date files are separated and the image
doesn't look like the original game. so are there still copyright
problems?
