Package: amule-utils-gui
Version: 2.2.1-1
Severity: minor
When the amule remote server is not connected or there is some
problem with the network, amulegui just sits quietly without any
further notice, stuck at "Going to event loop...".
It would be more intuitive if the program gave a timeout warning and
die, instead of just waiting eternally without any visual information.

Message #10 received at 498694@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
Hello,
we recently uploaded in Debian unstable the new upstream release of
aMule: 2.2.6 .
We are contacting you because you reported a bug against aMule and
because we'd like to ask you to verify if your bug still applies to
the 2.2.6 version.
Since some of the bugs we are contacting are really old, there are
chances they were already fixed in a previous version (just for the
reference, Debian stable has version 2.2.1 while Debian testing has
(currently) version 2.2.5).
Your help is appreciated in screening your bug, so we close those that
are already fixed and address those that are not (yet).
Thanks in advance,
Sandro (on behalf of aMule Debian packaging team)

Hi,
I don't know when, but I just tested with remote-gui and monolithic app
on the desktop. When closing the app, remotegui gives a message that
connection was lost and exits. So done.

Hi,
I reported this bug to upstream a while ago:
http://forum.amule.org/index.php?topic=16652
The problem has been narrowed down to when an unresolvable hostname or an
invalid IP address is provided to amulegui: these still make amulegui
"vanish" without any further notice. This is still present as of 2.2.6.
Regards,
Pitxyoki
