This bug is a discussion of the issues surrounding the use of busybox
as opposed to full debian packages such as sysinit, util-linux, mount etc, in an emdebian base system.

Taking sysinit as an example:
Busybox init does not (yet?) support runlevels. People may wish to use
runlevels on an emdebian device, or debian packages may rely on
runlevel support. In those cases the standard emdebian busybox base
may be inadequate.

It would be nice to be able to install sysvinit to 'upgrade' the
busybox functionality. However there are some problems with
implementing this. Current busybox includes symlinks for all the
commands which busybox implements as part of the package. When you try
to install full sysvinit dpkg barfs because sysvinit overwrites files
like /bin/init /bin/halt etc.

Making busybox links not be part of the package but installed by
busybox postinst script would solve this aspect of the problem. This facility
used to be provided with busybox 1.5, but is no longer a feature of busybox 1.9.

Many packages are affected by the same problem.
