Subject: libapache-mod-php5.0: Missing php5.0-mysql package
Date: Sat, 17 May 2008 15:27:35 -0700
Package: libapache-mod-php5.0
Version: 5.0.5-0.8~sarge1
Severity: normal

Perhaps bugreport should have been "can't run libapache-mod-php5.0 against current php5-mysql.so" - so
apologies if I got that wrong. Under etch, everything ran fine against libapache-mod-php5, but that
package is stale and being removed.

Currently, there's no (binary) way I can get php/mysql going with apache 1.3 on this box.

There is no package "libapache-mod-php5.0" in Debian, nor has there ever been.
I suspect that you're using, or have been using, unofficial sources for
apt-get.

I suggest that you completely remove (purge) the libapache-mod-php5.0 package
and its dependencies, and then reinstall php5 from the official repositories.

Good luck,
Thijs

I went ahead and purged the "5.0" packages, but the issue is still
broken:

apt-get install libapache-mod-php5
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  libapache-mod-php5: Depends: php5-common (= 5.2.0-10+lenny1)
E: Broken packages

And am currently not using unofficial sources:

cat /etc/apt/sources.list
#deb file:///cdrom/ sarge main

deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ lenny main
deb-src http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ lenny main

#deb http://security.debian.org/ lenny/updates main

deb http://security.debian.org lenny/updates main contrib non-free
deb-src http://security.debian.org lenny/updates main contrib non-free

Meep,
Mike

I suggest you use support forums like #debian on irc.debian.org,
forums.debian.net or the debian-users mailinglist to resolve this issue,
as it's not a bug in this package.
