Package: enigmail
Version: 2:0.95.0+1-3.1
Severity: normal
enigmail lists iceape-mailnews as a package it depends on, but does
not install any files under /usr/{lib,share}/iceape or
/var/lib/iceape. This seems necessary to tell iceape that enigmail is
installed.
In contrast, the package installs files under /usr/lib/icedove.
I tried "cp -a /usr/lib/icedove/extensions /usr/lib/iceape" and
restarted iceape but the OpenPGP menu is still not there.
The upstream web site says that enigmail works with SeaMonkey.

Before, the package 0.94 works fine, but Alexander Sack removed from him
page[1] this package.
[1]http://people.debian.org/~asac/unstable/
Today, we are without a way to install enigmail in iceape x86_64. In
i386, is possible to use the xpi in enigmail page.
Best
Claudio

Would it be possible to post it here? I don't know how many of us there
are, but I subscribed to 479854 specifically to be notified of a
solution to adding enigmail to iceape-i386.
Thanks,

Hello Alexander,
I understand if you don't want to support enigmail for iceape. But PLEASE remove the dependency entry suggesting it works.

If I understand Claudio correctly, the bug affects all architectures but
there exists a workaround for i386 only, which is to use upstream's XPI
package instead of the Debian package. Is that correct?
Alexander, what is the problem? I'm a DD, perhaps I can help?

iceape has a rotten old extension mechanism. Building enigmail for
that isnt trivial. You can try to resurrect, but i am not sure if its
worth it given that we currently consider to remove iceape from lenny
(lack of manpower to provide security support).
