Hello,

Regarding the package description, since it's a shell script, I guess
it's working on Windows 64bits too.
You could replace the term Win32 with Windows in that case.

are you going to use wmic and/or winexe for that? Then I'd suggest to
add teh script to the wmi-client package instead of wasting a full
package for a single shellscript.

Cheers,

Bernd

Hi Franklin,

I agree with you, but "Windows" could refer to Win9X series that is not
supported.

There exist some better word to refer just to Windows 2k and above
(Windows NT 4 is not supported)?

Thank you.

Hi Bernd,

I have no relationship with the wmi-client package nor knows the
mainteiner. To agree with your opinion, i should work close to that
mantainer and this could make the work a lot harder in the mean that i
have to commnuicate with him.

My work is in get just the selected hardware data from the Windows host
and whis is another "layer" of the "how" the communication runs.

Ok, the shell script is small and simple, but this is a simple task :)

I would to hear others opinions about your opinion.

Thank You.

Joel Franco

I don't think adding a package for a simple shell script makes any
sense.

uh, ntot really. You've just sent him an email ;)
The package is maintained by me in the Zenoss team... If you want to
provide such a script, as examples or for /usr/bin (with manpage then
please), I could give you access to the svn, so you can maintain it in
the debian directory of the package, not a big problem.

Cheers,

Bernd

retitle 473354 RFP: winhardware -- hardware summary report from a Win32 host
noowner 473354
thanks

Hi,

This is an automatic email to change the status of winhardware back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 18 months.

If you are still interested in adopting winhardware, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:

retitle 473354 ITP: winhardware -- hardware summary report from a Win32 host
 owner 473354 !
 thanks

However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing <473354@bugs.debian.org>.

Thank you for your interest in Debian,
