GstOpenMAX is a GStreamer plug-in that allows communication with
 OpenMAX IL components.

OpenMAX IL is an industry standard that provides an abstraction
layer for computer graphics, video, and sound routines.

As of today, it can be used on Debian with Bellagio
(an implementation of OpenMAX IL), mainly for development and
 testing.

Are the packages ready? What about bellagio? If you need sponsoring/
reviewing, I can probably help.

Hi,

Guillem is reviewing the packages.

They are hosted on pkg-gstreamer for gstopenmax and git.debian.org for bellagio.
They should be on "mentors" also.

Thanks

Hi,

This is an automatic email to change the status of gstopenmax back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 18 months.

If you are still interested in adopting gstopenmax, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:

retitle 469626 ITP: gstopenmax -- a GStreamer plug-in for OpenMAX IL

 thanks

However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing <469626@bugs.debian.org>.

Thank you for your interest in Debian,

The package exists in maemo/meego.

I am not sure about usefulness in Debian. Perhaps we should close that
bug if nobody is interested in Debian..

See http://meego.gitorious.org/maemo-multimedia/gst-openmax

Dear Marc-André,

Are you still interested in packaging this into Debian?
I can take the RFP if you permit.

Yours Sincerely,
Paul

Feel free to take the RFP.

The initial packaging is in pkg-gstreamer svn, but it certainly
evolved in maemo later and is already 2y old:

Thanks!
