I'm the developer of Tracks, and I have already packaged Tracks for
Debian Etch. The Debian packages can be downloaded from:

http://molmod.ugent.be/code/static/download/debian/pool/p/

The package python-tracks contains the whole Tracks suite, while the package
python-molmod is a dependency of python-tracks. Tracks also has other
dependencies, but they are already part of Debian Etch. I don't have much
packaging experience, so there might be some mistakes. The original sources can
be downloaded from:

http://molmod.ugent.be/code/static/download/sources/

For more information, contact me by mail, or take a look at:

http://molmod.ugent.be/code/

Thanks for your consideration.

Note that there's another open source project called tracks. See
http://www.rousette.org.uk/projects/ Maybe it would be possible to
change the name of your project.

retitle 469280 RFP: python-tracks -- Analysis tools for Molecular Dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations
noowner 469280
thanks

Hi,

This is an automatic email to change the status of python-tracks back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 18 months.

If you are still interested in adopting python-tracks, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:

retitle 469280 ITP: python-tracks -- Analysis tools for Molecular Dynamics and Monte Carlo simulations
 owner 469280 !
 thanks

However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing <469280@bugs.debian.org>.

Thank you for your interest in Debian,
