Package: eric
Version: 4.0.4-1
Severity: important
I've installed eric on two different unstable systems this evening. The
main window comes up; I refuse the chance to upgrade to the latest
version and I'm informed that as this is the first run the configuration
program will run. The window then vanishes.
If I attempt to run eric4-configure directly, it aborts with the message
ASSERT: "left.level > right.level" in file
\itemviews/qtreeview.cpp, line 2121
Aborted
I couldn't get any further than this I'm afraid.

Message #10 received at 468441@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
Hi Angus
You are absolutely right. But the problem appears with libqt4 4.3.4, not
the older versions. I guess the python-qt4 package needs to be updated. I CC
Torsten Marek. You can try to compile sip4 and python-qt4 yourself if you are
in a real hurry or downgrade to libqt4 4.3.3.
Hope it helps
Gudjon

Hi
By upgrading libqt4 to version 4.3.4-2 the bug disappears.
Cheers
