Well, I did create a working package for cytoscape 2.6.2, but I found
out it would be too hard for me to get it up to debian standards. Some
java libraries included with Cytoscape already exist as independent
packages. Some will need to get packaged separately. Cytoscape also
includes some proprietary code from yFiles that will create problems.

Moreover, I found out that Cytoscape 3.0 will switch to maven, so a lot
of work will have to be redone.

If somebody wants to take over, I can send you what I have up til now,
which isn't much.

regards,
Martijn

retitle 465331 RFP: cytoscape -- scientific network analysis and visualization
noowner 465331
thanks

Hi,

This is an automatic email to change the status of cytoscape back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 6 months.

If you are still interested in adopting cytoscape, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:

retitle 465331 ITP: cytoscape -- scientific network analysis and visualization
 owner 465331 !
 thanks

However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing <465331@bugs.debian.org>.

Thank you for your interest in Debian,
