Package: pilot-link
Version: 0.9.3-0.2

I am suspecting some issues with 64-bit cleanliness. When I run it, nothing
happens. When I hit Ctrl-C, it displays some high-ascii on the terminal.
You can see this:

Sorry, it appears that this does work but still has strange high-ascii
output.

John, this bug actually doesn't prevent the program from working, it
just screws up the "Press HotSync Button" message. If you press the
button, it will work. This bug was introduced in the last NMU, which
attempted to redirect that message to stderr instead of stdout. Here's
the bug (pilot-xfer.c line 107):

printf(stderr, "Waiting for connection on %s (press the HotSync button
now)..  .\n", device);

That should be fprintf (D'oh!)

Given the state of the bug reports for this package, it looks like
Dermot Bradley is no longer maintaining it (Dermot, if you're there,
speak up!). I can do an NMU, and I'm willing to adopt the package if
Dermot no longer wants it.

I'd be glad to handover pilot-link to someone who can devote the time to
it. Having changed my job at work to a support role (both office-based and
on-site) I'm now on a 9am-7pm day and (unless circumstances change) don't
have the time or energy to work on it.

If you want to take over Ben then I've no objections.
