Debian version of frets on fire is horribly slow.
I've tried the version downloaded from sourceforge,
and it worked fine.
The main difference is that the sourceforge's version is
somehow "compiled".
Not sure it's good for a debian package (maybe arch dependancy issues), 
but it undoubtedly brings performances.

Dear all (and apologies to those who receive this more than once),

We have just uploaded a new release of Frets on Fire to unstable
(1.2.512.dfsg-2) which I hope will fix many of the bugs you all
reported. 

If you have the time we would be grateful if you could try this version,
check for the original problem you reported and make sure that it all
runs for you now.
