we had a jnethack package before (1.1.5 in etch):
http://packages.debian.org/etch/jnethack

have you talked to it's maintainer? maybe the old
package code can be of use? ignore me if you did
all that. :-)

Oh, yes, I know it.
I talked to Kenshi Muto, who is the maintainer of it.

It works on gtk+-1.2, but the new jnethack package
will become to look like official nethack one of sid.
I may think that I cannot use the old code.

retitle 461638 RFP: jnethack -- NetHack patched to translate to Japanese
noowner 461638
thanks

Hi,

This is an automatic email to change the status of jnethack back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 18 months.

If you are still interested in adopting jnethack, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:

retitle 461638 ITP: jnethack -- NetHack patched to translate to Japanese
 owner 461638 !
 thanks

However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing <461638@bugs.debian.org>.

Thank you for your interest in Debian,
