Package: bbkeys

Hi!

Please add libxext-dev to build depends to fix FTBFS. It's the only change
between Debian and Ubuntu.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bbkeys/+bug/135768

Thanks!

Hi,

According to the PTS, the package is building correctly and it's in
testing already.

Please DO NOT submit anything related to Ubuntu, at least to my
packages, because I don't care what Ubuntu does. This is Debian.

If you find something useful to contribute to Debian or which is not
working in Debian, feel free to submit any bug report.

Thanks,
Bruno.

It's certainly your right to not care about Ubuntu changes; nevertheless,
this is a bug in your package that should be fixed, and Ubuntu just happens
to have fixed it first.

The package currently builds correctly in Debian because the Debian
libx11-dev package *happens* to depend on libxext-dev, satisfying bbkeys'
hidden build dependency; but the libx11-dev in experimental, like the
libx11-dev in Ubuntu, no longer depends on libxext-dev:

 Package: libx11-dev
 Version: 2:1.1.3-1
 Depends: libx11-6 (= 2:1.1.3-1), libxau-dev (>= 1:1.0.0-1), libxdmcp-dev  (>= 1:1.0.0-1), x11proto-core-dev (>= 6.8.99.8-1), x11proto-input-dev, x11proto-kb-dev, xtrans-dev, libxcb-xlib0-dev

So this is a bug in bbkeys (the configure script aborts if it can't find
libXext but does not build-depend on libxext-dev), and will become a serious
bug once the libx11-dev in experimental reaches unstable. Please consider
fixing this before then.

Cheers,

Hi Steve,

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I just don't wanted to
sound rude, but I wasn't happy with the way this bug was submitted -
sort of responsibility of keeping the
same changes that ubuntu has.

I will happily take care of this.

Cheers,
