I'm doing some cleanup here, and looking for files ending in .dpkg- was
part of it. In a file called adduser.conf.dpkg-save we have a
SKEL_IGNORE_REGEX variable. Should a person have save as one of the
patterns to ignore? Since I gather none of old|new|dist fit for this
adduser.conf file, perhaps a similar situation will happen in /etc/skel
at some time?

Hi
So your question is if SKEL_IGNORE_REGEX can be extended to
SKEL_IGNORE_REGEX="dpkg-(old|new|dist|save)"
Is this correct? (Yes, it can.)

Hi Jorg.
It was just a suggestion. If you and upstream don't want to do
anything on it, by all means close it.
Have a great day!
Gord
