Subject: aide: Updated files not executable
Date: Sat, 24 Nov 2007 18:31:23 -0800
Package: aide
Severity: normal
Version: 0.13.1-8

After updating aide, I got this in my daily mail:

  ******************************************************************************
  * AIDE returned with exit code 17. Invalid configuration! *
  ******************************************************************************
  Errors produced  (3 lines):
  34:syntax error:(
  34:Error while reading configuration:(
  Configuration error

I was able fix this with the following command:

  $ cd /etc/aide/aide.conf.d
  $ sudo chmod +x 31_aide_ifupdown 10_aide_hostname 70_aide_dev

These were all files that had been installed or updated with this
update. Note that I created the aide and aide-common .debs with "apt-get
source aide" (to backport lenny's version to etch).

Ah, please add 31_aide_apt to that list.

Is this maybe a duplicate of #447769? Can you please re-try with aide
0.13.1-8.0 from http://zg.debian.zugschlus.de/zg/pool/main/aide? The
binaries are for sid, so you'll need to locally rebuild.

Greetings
Marc

I'd agree. Feel free to merge #452771 with #447769.

My ISP is having problems so I might not be able to get to this
tomorrow, in which case it'll be a while. I'd go ahead an upload your
fix and I'll test it as soon as I can.

I will upload on monday night, and would appreciate if you could find
the time to test until then. If not, the fix will be in the upload,
but the bugs are going to stay open until you say things are fine.

Greetings
Marc

Doing so. I am treating this as a dupe of #447769, and am thus closing
for version 0.13.1-9.
