Package: icewm
Version: 1.2.32-2
Severity: important
Following today's upgrade on Sid, including xserver-xorg, I get a total
lockup if I use Ctrl+Esc to bring up the menu. I can still access the
menu with the mouse on Start at the bottom of the screen. As a
workaround I've made Ctrl+Esc do nothing.

Hi,
I also experience the same bug since today's upgrade. It's quite annoying
because it's easy to hit Ctrl-Esc by mistake.
In addition to Ctrl+Esc, hitting Windows-Esc also freezes my box if hit Esc
before Windows. If I hit Windows *then* escape, I don't have a freeze.
I tried:
removing ~/.icewm : problem was still there
removing /etc/X11/xorg.conf : problem was still there
trying another window manager (fluxbox): problem did not occur with the other wm
Here is the list of packages that were updated today (retrieved from
/var/log/dpkg.log):
xinit, nfs-common, libgtk2.0-dev, libgtk2.0-0, libgtk2.0-common,
flashplugin-nonfree, gnome-pkg-tools, libgtk2.0-bin, libicu36, libmozjs0d,
libmozjs-dev, libssh2-1, libxul-common, libxul0d, xulrunner, libxul-dev,
spidermonkey-bin, xserver-xorg-core, xserver-xorg-video-nv,
xulrunner-gnome-support, libsnack2, python-xpcom,
and xserver-xorg-input-wacom was removed

Hello,
I have 3 icewm installs.
First uses
xserver-xorg-video-intel
(latest sid)
This system produces the effects described in 452002.
And some icons are broken in task bar.
The second uses
xserver-xorg-video-sis
(latest sid)
This system produces the effects described in 452197.
The third uses the same version of icewm with older xorg packages, and it
doesnt have problems with alt-tab or ctrl-esc.
I think the cause of related bugs is maybe in somewhere xorg.
I downgraded xorg packages in the first system to testing and everything
fixed. (I kept icewm from latest sid.)

Those two bugs look like bug 454205 marked as closed in
xserver-xorg-core 2:1.4.1~git20071212-2, though perhaps should be
closed if no longer visible with xserver-xorg-core at least above
version.

Just switched back to IceWM and indeed I can't reproduce this anymore.
Thanks
Thomas

Same for me.
But I managed to keep ctrl+alt always enabled which made ICEWM hang : no
way to do something usefull. no way to do ctrl+alt+fn or ctrl+alt+backspace.
Only alt+syst+k killed Xorg.
