Hello,

I do not use bins anymore.
The co-maintainer, Martin Michlmayr, do not have time to maintain it
either.

Debian bugs have been formwared upstream at
https://gna.org/bugs/?group=bins but none were ever answered.
It looks like bins has been orphaned upstream.

If you want it please take it.

Regards,

Package info:
Description: Generate static HTML photo albums using XML and EXIF tags
BINS generates a complete static gallery (images and HTML) with
thumbnails and image lists, using XML files to hold information about
each image. Includes bins_edit and bins-edit-gui tools for adding
information to the XML files. Interprets EXIF and JFIF tags (and
Canon extensions) in the jpeg directly. Gallery appearance
customizable through HTML templates; gallery can be generated in
 different languages.
 .
Based on SWIGS (Structured Web Image Gallery System).

I guess you are not a Debian Developper, nor a Debian Maintainer. Exact?

The main job you could do is review the Debian bugs at [1] and provide a
patch for them. The job is to replace the upstream author since it looks
like he stopped working on bins.

You can then try to integrate your patches in the Debian package. The
Debian packaging data are available at [2] and [3] in the pkg-bins
project. You will need to learn how to create/maintain a Debian package.
Have a look at [3].

Thanks for your interest in bins.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you need help.
