Hi,

libtracker was renamed to libtrackerclient quite some time ago (to avoid
a name conflict afaik). This breaks the tracker support in gtk. Attached
patch fixes that.

Cheers,
Michael

Add to that the fact that it has the same bug as nautilus and won't
check that trackerd is installed before using it as backend. I'll add a
patch to that effect.

Right. Because the tracker package in Debian is split into separate
binary packages, the existence of libtrackerclient.so.0 does not
necessarily indicate that the tracker package is installed.

I just noticed that this bug has already been reported and "fixed"
upstream [1].
Imho it would be better to *not* fallback to loading libtracker.so. As I
mentioned earlier, the name libtracker was already taken and we might
end up loading the wrong lib.

Cheers,
Michael
