While investigating <http://bugs.debian.org/431718>, I noticed that my
original bug about including the libXNVCtrl library was marked as being
fixed in the version of nvidia-settings in testing, but not in the
version in unstable, as can be seen at
<http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/version.cgi?package=nvidia-settings;found=nvidia-settings%2F1.0%2B20060516-1;fixed=nvidia-settings%2F1.0%2B20060516-2;info=1>.

I downloaded both versions of the package and debdiff'd them:
        
        $ debdiff nvidia-settings_1.0+20060516-3_i386.deb nvidia-settings_1.0+20070502-1_i386.deb
        
        Files in first .deb but not in second
        -------------------------------------
        -rw-r--r--  root/root   /usr/include/NVCtrl/NVCtrl.h
        -rw-r--r--  root/root   /usr/include/NVCtrl/NVCtrlLib.h
        
So it merely seems that the header files were accidentally dropped from
the nvidia-settings package at some point. Please re-include them! :)
