Description : A graphical tool for designing finite state machines

Qfsm is a graphical editor for finite state machines written in C++ using Qt.
Finite state machines are a model to describe complex objects or systems in
terms of the states they may be in. In practice they can used to design
integrated circuits or to create regular expressions, scanners or other
 program code.

 Current features of Qfsm are:
 - Drawing, editing and printing of diagrams
 - Binary, ASCII and "free text" condition codes
 - Multiple windows
 - Integrity check
 - Interactive simulation
 - AHDL/VHDL/Verilog HDL/KISS export
 - State table export in Latex, HTML and plain text format
 - Ragel file export (used for C/C++, Java or Ruby code generation)

I'm not looking for a sponsor because I need first to understand better how to
overcome some issues which I'm working on.

Any news in this regard?

I'd love to see new Qt4 version of qfsm in debian.

Hi. Now that I can better manage my little spare time, I'll try hard to
provide a good enough package for inclusion in Debian, I expect all the
process to take a few weeks but have to take a closer look e.g. at copyright-
related stuff.

Subject: qfsm: changing back from ITP to RFP

retitle 434029 RFP: qfsm -- A graphical tool for designing finite state machines
noowner 434029
thanks

Hi,

This is an automatic email to change the status of qfsm back from ITP
(Intent to Package) to RFP (Request for Package), because this bug hasn't seen
any activity during the last 12 months.

If you are still interested in adopting qfsm, please send a mail to
<control@bugs.debian.org> with:

retitle 434029 ITP: qfsm -- A graphical tool for designing finite state machines
 owner 434029 !
 thanks

However, it is not recommended to keep ITP for a long time without acting on
the package, as it might cause other prospective maintainers to refrain from
packaging that software. It is also a good idea to document your progress on
this ITP from time to time, by mailing <434029@bugs.debian.org>.

Thank you for your interest in Debian,

Subject: Builds okay on squeeze w/ a powermac
Date: Thu, 23 Jun 2011 11:51:35 -0400
Hi,

Just wanted to let people know that qfsm builds and runs okay on a
powermac running squeeze. I only needed to install qt4-dev-tools and
cmake (with associated dependencies) within the context of a standard
build environment to get it to build. Although, people should be aware
that by default it installs in standard places and not /usr/local.

Used version qfsm-0.52.0-Source.
