Subject: linux-image-2.6.20-1-powerpc64: [powerpc64] Fan control not working anymore on G5
Date: Thu, 17 May 2007 14:32:54 +0000
Package: linux-image-2.6.20-1-powerpc64
Version: 2.6.20-3
Severity: important

Starting from 2.6.20, fan control on G5 is broken. I can't locate the "therm_pm72" module
anymore. I've tried to build a kernel by enabling CONFIG_THERM_PM72, but it seems to be
ignored.
Only 2.6.18-1 works here, following ones fails to detect fans. This makes the computer
almost unsable since fans runs at full speed (and they are very noisy).

closing as ancient kernel, no follow up since initial submit,
no second report. if it is not fixed in recent >= 2.6.24 kernels
please holler loudly.
