Subject: info2www still depends on perl

Package: info2www
Version: 1.2.2.9-11
Severity: important

Your package still depends on perl. You should update it to
conform to the new perl policy :
http://pandora.debian.org/~hertzog/

In general, if your package is not a perl module, then you only
need to change your dependency. You must depend on perl5 instead of perl.

You must know that your package may soon be NMUed if you doesn't
respond to debian-perl@lists.debian.org to tell us that you will
update your package yourself.

If you have any question or doubt, then you can ask on
debian-perl@lists.debian.org ...

Cheers,
    Raphael Hertzog <hertzog@debian.org>

Keep calm ! I've never got any mail from you neither by private mail nor
on the debian-perl mailing list.

I've just greped my mail archives to check if I hadn't missed something
but apparently no.

Furthermore you have had enough time to correct your package yourself. I
wouldn't have done a NMU If have known that you don't want NMU.

Cheers,

Check your MTA.

This is not the problem. Uploading NMU without asking the maintainer
of a package is a very bad style. In a lot of cases NMU produce
problems.

And maybe you should consider, that the maintainer has got reason
not to upload a version that depends on perl5! Once again: don´t upload
NMU of my packages!

??? That´s nonsense. Do you know the difference between a stable and
unstable Debian distribution?

> wouldn't have done a NMU If have known that you don't want NMU.

There´s a simple solution: ask before uploading!

Don't you read mails sent to you ? I already explained myself ...

You should not consider other maintainers as incapable of thinking abou
the consequences. You may be the better person to know about it but others
are not ignorant.

> ??? That´s nonsense. Do you know the difference between a stable and
> unstable Debian distribution?

Yes, but do you know that people who are following unstable would like
the transition period for the perl upgrade to be as short as possible ?

Do you know that if a user does have one of your non-updated packages, it
won't be able to remove perl and because of this won't be able to
use all the stuff packaged for perl-5.005 ?

> There´s a simple solution: ask before uploading!

Even simpler, respond to the mails you get when someone is asking you to
update your packages ... and read debian-devel-announce.

Cheers,
