I'll try to package glsof, which seems quite interesting.

Upstream doesn't seem very active, I'll ping it. Anyway, I'm going to
work on the SVN version, also because it seems that pre-packaged
tarball doesn't compile.

Giovanni.

I'm sorry, but one month ago I thought to have more time to spend in
packaging glsof. Right now I see that I can't do it, so I downgrade to
RTP again. :-(

If you want to start packaging glsof, don't hesitate to do it. I hope
one day, if nobody take it before, to manage to finish this work!

Regards, Giovanni.

Subject: Building glsof
Date: Mon, 22 Dec 2008 01:10:34 +0100
I'm trying to build glsof, this interesting frontend of lsof.

Source version is quite old (2006) but stable.

As Giovanni previously mentioned, the build from 0.10.0alpha-pre4 is
impossible. I start my work by downloading latest release from here (as
upstream author say exactly the same thing at
http://glsof.sourceforge.net/?q=node/31:)

$ svn co https://svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/glsof glsof

I need to test my package building with pbuilder (this failed tonight)
but all the other process seems to be ok. I think packages ready in a
few days (maybe after Christmas).

After many mails exchanged with upstream, it appears that glsof is
currently re-written in Java (svn revision 63). I based my work (svn
revision 22) on the last up-to-date version in C language. This is a
problem because this C version will not be maintained in the future
according to upstream author.

This is why i think this bug can be closed for now, and if anyone will
want to propose an RFP when a new version is released, open a new wnpp
bug.

Wnpp closed because upstream is currently working on a new version (Java
language) and will not maintain anymore current version (C language) as
explained in previous message.
