Description : a popular Bavarian card game
This is a KDE version of the Schafkopf game (a.k.a. Sheepshead in parts of the
USA). It has an easy to use GUI, a custom Bavarian Card Deck, an advanced AI,
a network mode and much more...
The long description is extracted from the homepage so far. I will probably be
improved before upload.

Hi Sebastian!
I've been packaging SchafKopf since version 0.5 but I never got round to
filling an ITP and maintaining it for Debian. Maybe my package is helpful as
starting point for yours:

I did not have time to work on it lately. IIrc there were some issues that
need to be resolved first. I will have a look at it during the next days
again. If you have some spare time for it, feel free to take over the ITP. I
would also be glad to team maintain it.

One of them is the license of the OpenTarock card deck, which is licensed
under the CC by-nc-sa 2.0 license, which is non-free. I asked upstream to
change it to a free license a while ago, but nothing happened yet:
https://lists.berlios.de/pipermail/schafkopf-devel/2006-January/001250.html
We should nudge them about this issue again...

I never came around filing an ITP as I started to package schafkopf myself and
I'm not sure if I've enough free time to maintain it on my own. I'd prefer to
team maintain it, maybe using pkg-games' Subversion repository?

Right, I remember that. I've already talked to upstream about that as well.
Obviously not very successfully. However, this card deck could be removed for
now.

Sure. I'd rather prefer git (or any other real VCS) over SVN, but there is
git-svn, so I don't really care :-)
Do you already work as part of the Debian Games team?

I'm okay with git. This is a good opportunity for me to learn how to use git
as VCS for packaging. Do you have a repository for schafkopf online somewhere
or should we utilize git.debian.org?

No.

I've taken the initiative to setup a git repository for schafkopf, which is
located in the git directory of the collab-maint project (you need to join
the collab-maint group as long as you are not a DD to have write access to
the repository):
http://git.debian.org/?p=collab-maint/schafkopf.git
It is pre-populated with my schafkopf packaging that I could save and import
from my local Subversion repository. Please feel free to change everything as
you wish!

I will have a look at it in a couple of weeks. I have a couple of exams coming
up and some more important things to do currently... :-/

I've now added a repackage-upstream-tarball target to debian/rules which takes
an original upstream tarball, unpacks it, removes the OpenTarock card deck
and packs it as schafkopf_$VERSION+dfsg.orig.tar.gz. So the remaining issue
from my POV before schafkopf is ready for an upload is the sparse long
description. It needs to be extended but apart from that I think the package
looks good.
I guess that you still dislike CDBS and want to rewrite debian/rules with
debhelper only. I really don't mind if you do. But what I really ask you to
do soon is to set yourself as Maintainer and move me to Uploaders. And please
don't forget to document all changes you'll make in the changelog.
Greetings,
Frank

Sorry, but I've currently lost interest in maintaining "schafkopf" as I
currently have few spare time and quite a few more interesting things
going on. Are you willing to maintain it on your own for now? I might
come back at some time in the future but I cannot promise that - after
all I much prefer to play "schafkopf" in real-life ;-)

Sebastian

I don't have enough spare time to maintain schafkopf on my own and I don't
want to upload yet another package with an inactive upstream to the archive -
the last upstream release was more than two years ago. Since currently we
both aren't interested in maintaining schafkopf, I'm retitling this bug to
RFP. Prospective packagers might want to reuse parts of my previous packaging
effort which is available in this Git repository:

Hello,
This is an automatic mail sent to close this RFP.
Your RFP wnpp bug is being closed because of the following reasons:
- It hasn't seen any activity for the last 18 months.
- The amount of RFPs on the Debian BTS is huge and we need to
clean up a bit the place.
As this an automatic procedure, it could of course have something
wrong and probably it would be closing some bugs that are not intended
by owners and submitters to be closed, for example if the RFP is still
of your interest, or there has been some kind of activity around it.
In that case, please do not hesitate to reopen the bug!
To re-open it, you simply have to mail control@bugs.debian.org
with a body text like this:
reopen 123456
thanks bts
Replacing '123456' for the number of your RFP bug. The subject of the
mail is ignored. Or if you have any kind of problems when dealing with
the BTS, feel free to contact me and I'd be more than happy to help
you on this: <lucas@debian.org>.
Thanks for your cooperation,
