Package: icedove
Version: 1.5.0.9.dfsg1-1
Severity: important
My RSS feeds (heise.de, slashdot, newsforge) are not working anymore, wich means
no new entries are fetched.
Adding any new subscription stops at "Verifying RSS feed..." without making any progress.
Please feel free to contact me if you need more information.
Regards,
Benjamin Peter

Did the problem disappear in the meantime?
Do you have extensions installed? Which ones?
does running icedove like
# icedove -safe-mode
help?

Hi,
I could solve the problem by deleting the "News & Blogs" folder in my
thunderbird profile. It seems like there was a problem from upgrading to
a newer version.
I guess the Problem is still there but you can solve it by deleting the
News and Blogs folder.

I also have the same problem, RSS feeds suddenly stopped getting new items.
Using icedove 1.5.0.10.dfsg1-3
Running icedove -safe-mode does not help.
Noticed that clicking on 'Get Mail' button does not result in network
traffic (watching etherape while clicking the button).
Is there any other information I can provide?

which references:

I quit icedove, removed feeditems.rdf, restarted icedove and it seems to
be working properly. The bug report claims that the problem was fixed in
1.5.0.2 but I have 1.5.0.10 and still saw the problem.
As far as I can tell it was triggered by executing 'Compact folders'
(which is also mentioned in bug).

I don't use RSS regular. So I can't really testing this bug.
How about that issue in current versions of Icedove? If yes is there a
related upstream bug entry in the Mozilla bugtracker or would anyone of
you open a bug there if needed and provide the URL from it?
Regards
Carsten

hey,
i had forgotten all about that.. :-)
well icedove version 10 was working ok for sure, and just upgraded to
version 17 and tried with another planet rss2.0 feed and it worked ok,
as expected.
so i guess this is no longer a bug for that case...
thanks,
