Several arches don't export PAGE_SIZE as it is not fixed.

You found the two arches where this is true.
Also asm/page.h is marked as "These probably shouldn't be exported".

That still leaves us with at least 8 build failures, and I should note
that these packages built on ia64/mips successfully before.

any userspace that relies on PAGE_SIZE is considered broken since long,
as it is quite ambiguous on ppc for example.
see getpagesize(2) or better sysconf(3)
PAGE_MASK is obtained then by
pm = ~(sysconf(_SC_PAGESIZE) - 1);

Do not rely on PAGE_SIZE or related defines existing or being correct.
Instead, use sysconf(_SC_PAGESIZE) for PAGE_SIZE or
~(sysconf(_SC_PAGESIZE) - 1) for PAGE_MASK.
Otherwise, the package may build on mips, ia64, and powerpc, yet still
be broken.

Cheers. Ideally I'd just uplaod a neer version which is unaffected, but
this seems to have licencing issues as it stands.

The project is BSD licenced, but there seem to be individual files in
the 3.0 tree that are licenced under GPL and Artistic. I'm trying to
get upstream to clarify ownership of each source file atm and confirm
if these licences are in fact acceptible together.

thanks
Hi Stu,
I've verified the correctness of Wouter's patch, so I'm going to go ahead
with an NMU for this. The final diff is attached, the package will be
uploaded shortly.
Thanks,

ganglia-monitor-core (2.5.7-3.1) unstable; urgency=high
.
* Non-maintainer upload.
* High-urgency upload for RC bugfix.
* define PAGE_SHIFT in terms of sysconf(_SC_PAGESIZE) instead of
relying on a define from system headers, since the latter is not a
