Adding SSL support to eggdrop would be great! There is already a clean
patch for doing this:

(Linked from http://www.egghelp.org/files.htm)
Thanks!

Hello, may I ask why was this bug status set as "Won't fix"?
There is already a working patch from Ubuntu:
http://patches.ubuntu.com/e/eggdrop/eggdrop_1.6.19-1.1ubuntu1.patch
Added tag(s) pending; removed tag(s) patch and wontfix.

Hi there,
somehow my e-mail explaining why I had tagged this bug as "wontfix" never
reached the bug tracking system nor any of the interested parties.
It obviously does not mean SSL support is never going to be implemented. Quite
the opposite! The point was that the request involved applying a non-official,
reasonably invasive patch against the advice from the upstream authors (see,
e.g., http://www.eggheads.org/news/2011/05/25/39).
I intend to upload the development version (1.8 branch) to experimental soon,
though, thus removing the wontfix tag and setting this bug as pending.
Sorry for not making this all clear originally.
Regards,
Guilherme de Siqueira Pastore
